Geotechnical Engineering...
Geotechnical engineering, also known as geotechnics, is a branch of civil engineering concerned with the engineering behavior of earth materials.
It uses the principles of soil mechanics and rock mechanics to solve its engineering problems. It also relies on knowledge of geology, hydrology, geophysics, and other related sciences.
Geotechnical engineers are responsible for assessing the subsurface conditions at a site and designing foundations and other structures that can safely support the loads imposed on them. They also play a key role in the design of earthworks, such as embankments, dams, and tunnels.
Geotechnical engineering is a critical field that plays a vital role in the design and construction of many types of infrastructure, including buildings, bridges, tunnels, dams, and highways. By understanding the behavior of soil and rock, geotechnical engineers can help to ensure that these structures are safe and reliable.
At GCA, we are those engineers.
What Do We Do?
Geotechnical engineering is one of the most important yet least understood disciplines within civil engineering. Also known as "geotechnics" and includes close working relationships with engineering geologists, geotechnical engineering is a branch of civil engineering concerned with the engineering behavior of earth materials.
Geotechnical Consultants Australia Pty Ltd (GCA) strives to provide the most efficient service, by working alongside professional engineers and designers to deliver the highest in industry standards.
Each site is special and requires specific investigation. This is why at GCA we customise our reports to meet challenging site conditions, and to cater for your development application or construction certificate requirements.
Whether your project is a new development, or you need to assess an existing building, GCA's team of experts can help provide cost effective solutions for your projects.
